Bellbuoy Processes during Lockdown
March 26, 2020 | BY The Bellbuoy GroupFurther to President Ramaphosa’s address on 23 March 2020 announcing South Africa will be in lockdown from midnight on Thursday 26 March 2020 until 16 April 2020, we confirm that we will continue operating and our staff will continue to work remotely from home.
Please direct any queries to your portfolio manager via email.
Please understand if there are certain delays as new systems are put in place.
Please note procedures below:
- All meetings with immediate effect to be handled electronically or cancelled where they are not essential and do not prejudice the scheme. Your portfolio manager will provide details on how to access the meeting electronically and this can be done through any smart device.
- Invoices will be paid as per normal on approval where relevant.
- Wages and salaries for scheme employees will continue to be paid as per normal, unless instructed otherwise.
- Insurance will continue as per normal, however please be mindful that delays may be experienced from third party contractors. Please refer to our website for the claim form.
- Municipal services – we are waiting confirmation from the municipality on their procedures in this regard. Should municipal accounts not be received timeously we will remit payment based on the usage of the previous month to ensure services continue. It is noted that refuse collection is an essential service, and will continue as normal.
- Non-essential services are not allowed to continue, should we receive any invoices for normal contractual services we will forward to the trustees for consideration. We obviously want to try and keep businesses going during this period.
- Variable readings must be submitted as per normal and will be processed. Where third parties are contracted to undertake this service trustees must arrange to take this over for the period or make an alternative arrangement. Should we not receive readings by the due date, we will process on estimates for each scheme.

We trust that clients will support the President’s appeal and that we will be able to flatten the curve to ensure our healthcare services cope. While these are difficult times, we appeal to people to be creative in developing new ways of living and to be kind to each other and oneself.
